Mounting Attacks on Critical Infrastucture

This highly sophisticated cyber attack on a crucial U.S pipeline underpins the vulnberability of our infrastructure to hostile forces, whether they be states like China and Russia or non-state enemies such as terror groups or international organised crime. It raises a deep question on defence spending.  If the targes are now  the systems at home that keep our civilisations running,  is spending correctly balanced between protecting civilian infrastructure and building more warplanes and aircraft carriers.
