Ellen Cheshire spent her childhood reading books, visiting art galleries, watching films and going to the theatre. She began her career as a  box office assistant. It was only natural that she would go on to work in the creative arts and is now a specialist in the cinema, and specifically great directors. She has written books on Ang Lee, the Taiwanese director who broke into Hollywood with films like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Brokeback Mountain and Life of Pi and New Zealand director, Jane Campion, whose work includes The Piano with which she was the first woman to win the Cannes Palme D’Or award and The Power of the Dog for which she won Best Director Oscar.

Ellen also contributed to Silent Women, the first book to give an overview of early women film-makers with stunning illustrations of the early days of the movies and The Charlie Chaplin Archives which tells of the comedian with his trademark bowler hat, baggy trousers and cane, arriving in Hollywood in 1914 to become the slapstick king of America and incredibly rich with his own studio and an instantly recognisable character. Then, of course, Ellen’s hand is also seen within the James Bond Archives, the most dashing secret agent in the history of cinemas. Steeped in folklore of Hollywood and its history, join Ellen Cheshire in conversation with Humphrey Hawksley to peel back stories of the stars, the directors, the in-fighting and awards in our block-buster Goldster Inside Story, Friday June 23rd 2023.

The Year of the Horse represents Movement, Vitality and Forward Momentum, powerful symbolism for a new cycle. Confidence. Optimism. Charisma. — which makes it a powerful symbol for a new cycle -- as the saying goes, Success arrives with the Horse. Have a good year, one and all.

Here is the new global flashpoint. The U.S.-Russian border. The High North. Melting ice. Opening sea routes. Mineral resources. Inhospitable wilderness. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0G4D7P7NX?tag=uklinktagbk-21&th=1&psc=1&geniuslink=true @JoffeBooks @severnhouse @MickeyCreative #rakeozenna

With the great @kino_isaac on the world order being turned upside down, politicians left behind by technology and how #RakeOzenna survives in the #Arctic @MickeyCreative
